Description of the role: The Automotive Bookkeeper at Tantillo Auto Group, at one of our Smithtown locations, is responsible for all financial transactions and record-keeping related to the company's automotive dealership operations. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of general accounting principles. Responsibilities:*Experience in Automotive Bookeeping Required
- Process and reconcile daily sales transactions, including cash, credit card, and financing transactions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare and submit timely financial reports to management
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
- Handle all aspects of vehicle registration and titling
- Manage inventory records and conduct periodic audits
- Assist customers with financial inquiries and resolve any billing issues
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an automotive bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of automotive accounting practices and regulations is preferred
