Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Parts Managers:
- Strategic Leadership: Set ambitious department goals, develop and manage annual budgets, and lead a dynamic team toward achieving these objectives.
- Team Development: Hire, train, and motivate the parts department team, ensuring their performance aligns with dealership standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an optimized inventory to meet the needs of various customers (service department, collision center, DIY enthusiasts) and ensure high turnover and minimal obsolescence.
- Pricing & Profitability: Establish pricing strategies across categories to balance profit generation and guest satisfaction. Regularly analyze sales and expenses to hit profit targets.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee inventory levels, supervise stock ordering processes, and manage special orders to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Guest Service: Champion high-quality service for external and internal clients, managing complaints effectively and fostering strong relationships.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with service and collision center managers for seamless parts supply, attend managerial meetings, and weekly team discussions.
- Continuous Improvement: Constantly evaluate and improve departmental operations, storage, and sales strategies to enhance effectiveness and profitability.
- Technical & Administrative Support: Offer technical guidance to the team, manage payroll records, and ensure efficient paperwork flow and inventory tracking.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all relevant regulations, enforce safety protocols, and ensure a clean work environment for team members and guests.

Requirements:
Experience and Education:
- 3-5 years of experience in an automotive parts department, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in automotive technology or business management is a plus.
Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of automotive parts, systems, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in using parts catalogs and dealership management systems.
Guest Service Skills:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle guest inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
Organizational Skills:
- Strong organizational abilities to manage inventory, maintain records, and ensure accuracy.
- Capability to plan and oversee the ordering, receiving, and stocking of parts.
Sales and Financial Acumen:
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and managing budgets.
- Ability to analyze sales data and generate reports to drive performance.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency with computer systems and software used for inventory management and sales.
- Familiarity with electronic parts catalogs and automotive repair manuals.
Dependability:
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
