ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Receives payment for products or services sold by the dealership and plays a key role in maintaining or creating customer satisfaction for the business transaction.
  • Greets customers at the cashier window in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Computes customer bills.
  • Turns in all applicable paperwork before ending shift. This includes cashiers individual work as well as the hard copies, charges (parts), and no charges (service).
  • Maintains calculator tapes as follows: ensures that the date, name and description are written on the tape. Calculator tapes must also include RO/CT numbers.
  • Maintains invoices by ensuring that all three columns are closed out completely and properly and filed with hard copies.
  • Receives cash, checks and credit card payments from customers; records amount received.
  • Makes change and issues receipts to customers.
  • Provides refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise or as directed by manager.
  • Reconciles cash drawer daily and completes a Balance Drawer sheet daily to account for any mistakes.
  • Ensures that all Parts ticket transactions include name, address, and phone number for the customer.
  • Prepares advisor report and advisor checklist a means of tracking service packages and repair orders.
  • Works with department managers to keep abreast of new products and services offered, their features and value, and any changes in price.
  • Answers customer questions about services performed, and products purchased, or refers them to the correct department.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of 90 day same as cash purchases and applications as well as the Rewards Program purchases and applications.
  • Files all appropriate paperwork accordingly and prepares files for scanning daily.
  • Maintains an accurate log of all customer transactions.
  • Collects customer emails.
  • Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate manager for resolution.
  • Provides clerical assistance to department as needed.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
