They answer the phone, respond to emails, greet potential customers, address complaints, handle other front desk duties, and make daily follow-up phone calls to service clients after their service visit. An automotive service lane assistant is often in charge of cashier responsibilities, including accurately calculating amount due; collecting cash, card, or checks as payment; and documenting payment received.
