Summary Pohanka Automotive is seeking to hire an Automotive Service Manager at our Capitol Heights location. The Service Manager leads a team of service professionals to deliver exceptional value and satisfaction to our customers continuously. He or she helps plan, train, and monitor the performance of their team of service advisors, service technicians, cashiers, and porters. He or she promotes 100% customer satisfaction and revenue growth in line with targeted business and financial objectives.   • Responsibilities
  • Ensure a customer experience that meets or exceeds the manufacturer's and company's expectations
  • Monitor progress of all current and pending projects
  • Create goals for the Service Department and develop/implement processes that will assist in achieving these goals
  • Monitor employee performance and provide frequent progress reports in order to improve efficiency and satisfaction
  • Actively communicate with the Shop Foreman and other members of management to achieve success in all areas of the Service Department
  • Oversee the hiring, training and goal-setting of an effective service team
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts and relevant financial information
  • Follow up with customers to obtain feedback to ensure their satisfaction and thank them for their business
  • Attend workshops and study relevant publications to stay up-to-date with developments in the automotive service industry
  • Communicate and maintain exceptional relations with manufacturing reps and dealers
  • Ensure all service staff comply with environmental, health and safety regulations
  • Willingness to learn, grow and go above and beyond
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of automotive service experience is required
  • Must be proficient with dealer management systems (preferably CDK but not mandatory)
  • Desire to coach and train team to exceed their goals
  • Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to be analytical, problem solve and multitask
  • Self-motivated & enthusiastic presence in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service, time management & communication skills
  • Consistent and stable work history
  • Organized, efficient and results-driven
  • Full-time with weekend availability
  • Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Reliable transportation
