Automotive Service Technician Responsibilities
- Service vehicles in a timely manner for routine scheduled maintenance in accordance with dealer and manufacturer recommendations
- Diagnose and identify necessary repairs
- Perform approved repairs to manufacturer and customer specifications
- Ability to plan work procedures, using workshop manuals, and experience
- Ability to communicate with the supervisor on a regular basis about work performed, necessary changes to approved repairs, or any other concerns related to the repair or maintenance of a vehicle
- Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined
- Experience in the use of computerized diagnostic equipment
- Produce legible and accurate reporting to reflect performed work
- Participate in paid manufacturer training
- Maintain a clean working environment on the automotive service floor
- Follow all safety requirements to comply with company policies, local and federal regulations
- Explain automotive problems and repairs to Service Advisors and/or clients
- Other duties as assigned
Automotive Service Technician Qualifications
- Ford certification and/or ASE Certification strongly preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel
- Ability to pass all pre-employment testing including background check and drug screening
