Job Title: Automotive Upfitter / Installer Department: Automotive Installation Accountability: This position reports to the Automotive Installation Supervisor Responsibilities: • Install automotive products such as emergency lighting, mobile computer systems, police/fire radios, partitions, prisoner transport units, etc. into police, fire, rescue and other applicable vehicles • Follow written/verbal instructions, product samples, work orders, schematics or blue prints to install equipment on vehicles • Cut or drill to properly mount equipment in or on vehicles according to customer specifications • Fabricate materials available for custom install/mounting • Lay out work to be performed according to instructions and customer specifications • Wire accessories to function properly and meet customer guidelines • Work as a team to accelerate job completion • Maintain a clean and safe work area • Assist with special projects as assigned by Supervisor Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED • 4+ years' experience in 12 volt automotive aftermarket wiring and up fitting • Some fabrication skills required • Must have personal tools and tool chest • Must have a valid driver's license • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documents, and engineering drawings • Able to perform basic mathematical computations • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively • Must possess a strong attention to detail • Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing, squatting, stooping and bending • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. • Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus • Proficient computer skills • General knowledge of workplace safety, a plus Work Environment - Office • Chemicals, (See MSDS) • Machinery • Protective clothing and equipment may be required • Dust • Noise Company Details Havis is at the forefront of revolutionizing industries by unlocking the full potential of technology to drive productivity and enhance safety through innovative mobility solutions.
