General Purpose:The Department of Communications at Molloy University invites applicants for a one semester auxiliary part-time faculty member in the media concentration. The contract may be renewed at the discretion of the Provost in discussion with the School Dean. The faculty member will teach two courses in the Spring 2025 semester from the following areas: Screenwriting, Media Literacy, The Art of Film and Television, and Video Editing.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach two courses for the 2025 Spring Semester
- Assist the Communications Department with student advisement
- Participate in student recruitment initiatives including open house, accepted student days, campus workshops, and school visits.
- Attend monthly Communications Department meetings
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree or terminal degree in Communications, Media Studies or closely related field.
- 1-2 years teaching experience in higher education.
- Ability to teach courses using several modalities including in-person instruction, online synchronous, and online asynchronous.
- Experience teaching and/or professional experience in film, television and media production/post-production
Salary Information:When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring annual salary range for this part-time position is $25,000. This hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
