Job Summary

Provide crucial support in the Housing and Mailroom departments at the university. This role involves managing day-to-day administrative tasks, ensuring effective operation of both housing and mailroom services, and maintaining excellent levels of service for students, faculty, and staff.

Job Responsibilities

1. Housing Support:

* Manage inquiries and concerns from residents regarding housing assignments, room changes, and maintenance requests.

* Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely completion of repair requests.

* Assist in the preparation and distribution of communication-related to housing policies and events.

2. Mailroom Operations:

* Manage the reception, sorting, and distribution of mail and packages to students and staff.

* Maintain accurate logs of incoming and outgoing mail and packages.

* Ensure compliance with postal regulations and university policies.

* Provide customer service to resolve issues related to mail delivery and dispatch.

3. Administrative Duties:

* Perform clerical duties including filing, answering phone calls, and managing email correspondence.

* Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to housing and mailroom operations.

* Manage inventory of office supplies and reorder, as necessary.

4. Financial Administration:

* Assist in the processing of invoices and payments related to housing and mailroom operations.

5. Compliance and Safety:

* Ensure that housing and mailroom operations comply with university policies, safety standards, and legal regulations.

* Participate in training and safety drills to maintain preparedness for emergency situations.

Job Qualifications

* 3 - 5 years previous experience in administrative support, preferably in an educational or housing/mailroom setting.

* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management.

* Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

* Must be able to lift twenty pounds at a time.
