The Ava R-I School District is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and passionate educational leader to serve as the Middle School Principal for the 2025-2026 school year. Ava Middle School serves approximately 400 students in grades 5-8. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student achievement, staff development, and creating a positive school culture. The Middle School Principal will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of school operations, including curriculum and instruction, school climate, and community engagement, ensuring the success of our middle school students. This is an 11-month contract with employment beginning on August 1, 2025. This position will remain open until filled, with an anticipated hire date in January 2025. Key Responsibilities: - Lead, manage, and evaluate the academic programs and instructional staff of the middle school.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and collaborative school environment that promotes student growth and development.
- Develop and implement educational programs that meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
- Monitor and improve student performance through assessment and data analysis.
- Provide leadership in school-wide initiatives and ensure alignment with district goals and policies.
- Supervise and support teachers, counselors, and administrative staff.
- Engage with parents, community members, and stakeholders to support school initiatives and student success.
- Collaborate with other administrators to create and implement professional development programs.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal educational regulations.
Qualifications: - Master's degree in Educational Leadership, a valid state certificate for administration, or eligibility to obtain certification.
- At least 3 years of successful experience in a school leadership role
- Proven experience in managing teams, implementing school-wide initiatives, and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and effectively handle student behavior and school management challenges.
- Knowledge of current educational trends, best practices, and the ability to integrate technology into the learning environment.
