Project Manager – Aviation Projects (Lenexa, KS)

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead and oversee aviation-focused infrastructure projects. This role involves managing a range of improvement initiatives at general aviation and smaller commercial service airports, ensuring alignment with client goals, regulatory standards, and project timelines.

Your Role and Impact

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution phases for airport infrastructure projects, including federally and locally funded initiatives.
  • Manage multiple project components, including grant facilitation, design development, bidding, construction administration, and project closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with airport master plans, federal grant assurance requirements, and FAA/state design standards.
  • Apply FAA Advisory Circulars to the design and construction of key airport facilities such as runways, taxiways, aprons, grading, and pavement markings.
  • Prepare contract specifications, bid estimates, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the successful integration of all project elements.
  • Maintain accurate records, including timekeeping and project documentation.

What You Bring

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years in civil engineering with a focus on transportation or aviation projects.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
  • Strong expertise in FAA and State DOT aviation project requirements.
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Office and specialized aviation software (e.g., FAARFIELD).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
