Under the direction of the VP of Payment Solutions, the AVP of Collections, responsible for implementing the strategic initiatives for the Collections Department that are aligned with the organizational goals of the Credit Union, leveraging technology to improve processes that result in lower charge offs and increased recoveriesDuties:
- Develop and implement effective collections strategies to protect the Credit Union's assets and minimize losses.
- Establish performance goals and KPIs that align with the organizational objectives.
- Create procedures that enhance collections practices and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide strong leadership to the collections team, fostering a team whose culture is centered around high performance, efficiency, and quality member service.
- Work closely with internal and external partners to evaluate and implement technologies to enhance collections practices.
- Regularly monitor current systems for opportunities to streamline workflows and continue to create efficiencies.
- Establish and monitor department KPIs to track team performance and efficacy of collections efforts.
- Develop and monitor quality assurance program to monitor member interactions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Lead, develop and mentor members of team. Ensure team is trained to excel in their roles and grow within their careers.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate for this role is forward thinking, has a strong background in collections/loss mitigation and has a proven record of operational excellence.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent of four years of college level courses and a minimum of eight years of collections experience, preferably at a credit union.
- Minimum of five years of management experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of collections practices, collections technology, regulations, and industry standards. Including repossessions, foreclosures, loss mitigation, delinquency management, and asset disposition.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong analytical abilities.
