That's why we're actively seeking a AVP, Life Insurance Administration to join our team and take part in our people-first culture.As AVP, Life Insurance Administration you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by providing leadership, guidance, and direction to IT teams across multiple sites to support all technology needs for product (NPI, current product support, and TPA) across Life Insurance Platforms.   • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling system analysis, solution architecture, development, third-party supporting platforms, and support across CMD Life Insurance product administration systems solutions to enable CMD objectives (appx 75% of time).
  • In partnership with Product Tax Compliance and Product Design leaders, ensure the IT Product team acts with a strong sense of ownership over their 1st line Product Tax Compliance responsibilities and establishes the necessary technical expertise/skillsets, processes, and tools.
  • Help define and implement business priorities for product domain based on project prioritization. Accountable for influencing and executing the product roadmap priority list. Collaborate with leadership across various divisions for synergies and best practices. (appx 10% of time)
  • Responsible for supplier relationship and contract management for IT product systems. Responsible for attracting, hiring, growing and mentoring individuals and leaders on the team and fostering an environment of engagement. (appx 10% of time)
  • Budget (appx 10-15MM) and track technology needs and expense, look for opportunities to improve execution efficiency and reduce cost. (appx 5% of time)

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 15+ years' experience leading IT teams with increasing responsibility.
  • Background managing multiple technology areas such as administration platforms [Cyberlife, Vantage, FAST, etc.], database systems [MS SQL Server, DB2, MySQL], application middleware platforms [.NET, JBoss, WildFly, MicroFocus], integration [MuleSoft, WebServices], development [.Net, JAVA], support teams, and solution architecture.
  • Experience developing strategy for organizing team effectiveness.
  • Operates though influence in a boundary-less manner, leading technology teams to leverage skills and assets for maximum potential.
  • Prior experience in an architecture or strategy role is highly desired.
  • Ability to balance multiple demands from multiple departments to manage capacity, budget, and scalability to meet business objectives.
  • Ability to manage and influence across, up, and down reporting hierarchy.
  • Experience using strategic sourcing partners/vendors in the effective delivery of IT Services.

Base pay range: $215,000 - $260,000

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
