We currently have an opening for an Assistant Vice President (AVP) Risk Management at our corporate office in Arnold, MO. The AVP Risk Management is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management program. Accomplishing this will include leading the design and implementation of our business continuity plans and third-party vendor management, developing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies to safeguard the financial integrity and reputation of the credit union, and fostering a risk-aware culture by promoting communication and understanding of risk management across the organization. The ideal candidate will live in the St. Louis/Arnold area and commute to our corporate office as this is not a remote or hybrid position. Requirements What will you be responsible for:

  • Establish and maintain the credit union's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Analyze a multitude of scoreboards/performance management tools to mitigate exposures to risk.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor the effectiveness of risk controls.
  • Develop and maintain a robust compliance program, including policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and the board of directors on the status of risk management initiatives and make recommendations for areas that need further development or change.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive vendor management program to assess, monitor, and manage third-party risk.
  • Oversee the internal audit function, ensuring that audits are conducted effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies based on internal audit findings.
What skills does this position require?
  • Bachelor's degree or experience in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Seven to ten years of experience in related regulatory compliance position, audit, or loss prevention
  • A minimum of five years of management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state financial regulations
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and influencing skills through all levels of the credit union and with external partners and vendors.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, including the ability to summarize and explain complex findings and issues to a wide range of audiences.
