Job Title: AWS Services Engineer
Position Description
MegazoneCloud is looking for an AWS Services Engineer to join our team in Orange County, CA, USA, to support our customers in North America. The AWS services engineer is a member of MegazoneCloud's Services Delivery team, he or she is responsible for ongoing AWS technical support, escalations from the monitoring team, and proactive maintenance for our client's AWS environment as well as requirement gathering to communicate with the backend MegazoneCloud team. As an AWS Services Engineer, you will be a critical part of our core team, which is essential to the success of our Services Delivery organization as well as MegazoneCloud North America business organization. The engineer will be dedicated to one of our big enterprise customers, and he or she will be our critical mass of the future business with the customer. The candidate shall commute at least two days every week to the office located near Irvine, CA, USA. This position requires Korean-English bilingual communication and it's mandatory.
The ideal candidate's qualifications are:
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily operations and monitor the customers' AWS service environment.
- Support customers' critical AWS service environment to avoid downtime, improve quality, and save cost.
- Incident response, change management, provisioning, and testing for the AWS service environment.
- Single point of contact between the customer and key Megazone members such as Sales/Pre-Sales, Program Managers, and/or Project Managers.
- The candidate shall support initial discussions with customers regarding their requirements based on AWS.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional AWS hands-on skills based on complex/large environment support and project experiences.
- Support AWS environment, including response to any escalations from the monitoring tool to help analyze and resolve incidents for customers' infrastructure running in AWS.
- Communicate support request information to all team members, if needed, and escalate cases to appropriate staff as necessary to ensure the requests are closed promptly.
- Interact with clients to identify issues, troubleshoot expediently, and follow up on issues via email, ticketing system, on-site meetings, and phone calls. Communicate technical issues and solutions with clients in business terms.
- Configuration and tuning the cloud-based tools, managing cost, security, and compliance for the client's environments.
- Mid to advanced knowledge of the AWS security and compliance controls
- Create and maintain updated documentation for the client's environment.
- Promote best practices to enhance and improve organizational processes.
- Participate in weekly and monthly discussions with clients to review outstanding issues and changes and discuss proposals for improving the client's environment.
- Minimum experience:
- 2 years of experience in infrastructure (on-premise) management or deployment projects.
- Plus, over 3 years of hands-on experience in complex/large AWS infrastructure management or deployment projects.
- Authorization to work in the US (e.g., permanent residency, citizenship)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with or DBA experiences for Database systems, e.g., Oracle, Open-Source Database systems, or Cloud-based Database solutions (ex; AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, Azure PaaS DB).
- Familiar with or have hands-on experience in AWS EKS environment management.
- Experience with IaC (e.g., Terraform)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience in a 24x7 managed services, hosted service company, or Network Operations Center environment.
- Experience with ITIL processes and associated ITSM systems and service portals for Incident and Change Management.
- Experience with Windows and Linux system administration, supporting and scaling virtual server cloud or on-prem environments, and solving network issues.
- Understanding of sys admin concepts including, but not limited to virtualization, containers, disk storage, encryption, security, network connectivity, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Operational knowledge of scripting languages.
- Client relationship skills and experience managing vendors. (Pre-Sales or Consulting)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

- Strong problem investigation and diagnosis skills.
