The Spirit of the Position:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Engineer Manager with expertise in C# .NET and Microsoft SQL Server as well as experience managing a team of engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, a passion for technology, and a drive to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will also be responsible for managing a team of engineers and have strong leadership and managerial skills. You will work closely with our design and backend teams to deliver high-quality, performance, and scalable solutions.

Join us in shaping the future of parking! This position is located in our Hartford, CT Headquarters and offer a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Principal Job Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using C# .NET
• Optimize and manage SQL Server databases to ensure high performance, reliability, and security
• Implement security and data protection measures
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends and latest .NET releases

Requirements:

• Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of engineers
• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role
• Strong proficiency in C# .NET and Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with RESTful API design and development
• Knowledge of database design, optimization, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

• 10+ years' experience as a Backend Engineer and 5+ years managing people
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and experience with Azure SQL
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services such as App Service Plans, App Services, Frontdoor, API Management, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Azure Data Factory
• Experience with Azure DevOps and building pipelines and releases
• Experience with test driven development and building unit tests
• Experience with implementing single sign on solutions

Physical Demands:

• Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
• Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
