Description:Position Title: Backroom AssociateJob Identification:•Immediate Supervisor: Store Manager.•EEOC Class: Sales Workers.•FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.Wage: $16.00 per hour.Job Summary:The Backroom Associate is responsible for providing customer service to donors and customers, receiving and recording donations, and processing and pricing goods. Maintains the sales floor, backroom, donation receiving area. Adheres to all company policies and procedures.Duties/Responsibilities:•Performs excellent customer service to donors and customers at all times.•Directs vehicles and customers to correct donation locations. Greets donors and provide information about Goodwill's donation policies, mission, and programs; offers tax receipts to donors and helps in unloading donations. Redirects donations that do not meet company requirements.•Receives, records, and sorts donations to effectively process through the Kaizen system. Full compliance to Kaizen guidelines/principles as outlined in the audit and 5-minute drills. Maintains records on tallies and donations from donors.•Works in various areas of the backroom determined daily by management, including soft goods production, hard goods production, donations, etc. •Meets company production standards.•Helps drivers with loading and unloading trucks.•Identifies high-end and/or collectible items to send to E-Commerce for online sales.•Cleans items and inspects for any damage/breakage. Prices items following company standards and maintains accurate records of items priced.•Stock, merchandise, and maintain the salesfloor to meet standards and guidelines. •Places items that cannot be sold into appropriate containers for salvage and separates by category.•Works at other donation sites when needed. •Sweeps and mops floors, cleans ups any broken items, cleans/sanitizes restrooms, stocks restrooms with supplies, and cleans the break area. Adheres to the cleaning checklist.•Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area and complies with safety procedures and equipment operating rules.•Safeguards all donations and company property from damage and theft. Treats all donations and company property with respect and care.•Ensures proper handling and disposal of trash, recyclables, and hazardous waste. Maintains logs and records detailing disposal of hazardous waste materials.•Performs other related duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team and/or mission.Requirements:Required Skills/Abilities:•Excellent customer service skills.•Excellent verbal communication skills.•Read, write, speak and understand English.•Basic understanding of laws and regulations related to hazardous materials.•Honesty.•Demonstrates reliable attendance.•May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.•Knowledgeable about company's mission and services, and customer-related policies.
