A little about our business to understand if this is a good match for you: we are fruit growers (apples, strawberries, raspberries) with a year-round pie bakery/farm market. Due to the nature of our business, we have busy pick seasons (summer and fall) with multiple seasonal hires but keep a few key full-time employees year-round. We are looking for you to become the latter. You would start no later than early September at $15/hour. After completing the Thanksgiving season (11/30) you will receive a $2 bonus for each hour worked. Ideally 40 hours/week with 8-hour workdays from 7 am until 4 pm (or at least 3 days per week for part-time). Monday is OFF and the second day off is to be agreed on. You will spend most of the fall season in the bakery: rolling pie crust, mixing pie filling, peeling apples, making caramel apples and donuts, running the oven, packaging baked goods, and so on. If everything goes well and we both agree for you to stay on after November, you will continue to be compensated at $17/hour. However, due to the nature of our business, the traffic is slower in the winter and spring. Because of that your responsibilities would change accordingly and so is the schedule. You would still work 27 - 40 hours per week with a 9-hour long workday 3-4 days a week. We still make pies during winter-spring season but not nearly as many. So, you would continue baking on a smaller scale and helping customers in our farm market. You will run the register, bag and restock apples, dehydrate produce, and inventory supplies. After working for a year, you will receive a 10% raise. This job is for somebody who enjoys doing a few smaller things instead of one large task.
