We are a small, from-scratch bakery located in the Boxcar Coffee Roasters Pearl St Café. We make classic breakfast pastries and laminated products such as croissants, kouign amann, cookies, canelé, and more. We strive to develop quality pastries that pair well with our coffee and tea offerings to provide a memorable experience for anyone who visits our cafés.
A Baker at Boxcar will be responsible for baking & finishing all pastries for both cafés each morning, followed by completing all daily prep as needed. This includes: mixing and shaping doughs (brioche, croissant, cookies, cakes, etc), making fillings (custards, jams, ganache, etc), laminating dough, shaping croissants. Bakers must be able to manage time effectively, maintain food safety standards, and work well with others.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Production shifts begin as early as 4:30AM. Weekend availability and flexibility around holidays is required. This is a full-time position (8hr shifts) and is compensated at $20.50/hour or DOE.
