They are responsible for providing accurate high-quality customer service on the teller line as well as additional services on the platform line. Our Banking Associates provide a complete range of customer services, including but not limited to, opening new accounts, explaining available products and services, and gathering customer information to process new and existing accounts. Join us and enjoy the many rewards; matched 401(K) retirement savings, health and dental coverage, and more.Internal applications must be submitted by 09/30/2024Solvay Bank is an EOE/AA/Disability/VeteranPosition Title: Reports To:Banking Associate Assistant Branch Manager / Branch ManagerPOSITION SUMMARY:Receives and pays out money, keeps records of money and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions, while providing exceptional client service by performing the following duties:JOB RESPONSBILITIESDelivers excellence in customer service, guidance and respect to all Solvay Bank customers and co-workers in accordance with the Solvay Bank Client Service StandardsThoroughly understands, embraces and exhibits Solvay Bank Values and serves as an example to others in actions and wordsReceives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount and examines checks for endorsementsCashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balancesProcesses negotiable instruments following all policies and proceduresEnters customer transactions into computer software to record transactions, and issues computer generated receiptsPlace holds on accounts in accordance with bank and regulatory policyBalances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screenDevelops strong knowledge of the Bank's deposit and electronic banking products so as able torecognizes client needs and makes appropriate recommendations or referrals to co-workersRemoves deposits from and counts and balances cash in automated teller machines and night depositoryMaintains proper cash level in drawers, keeps cash secure, and maintains a high level of security for the bankAccepts stop payment requests and address changes, distributing to the proper personnel for processingAssists with daily scanning to balance branchAs needed, educates and assists customers with opening various types of deposit accounts, ordering debit cards and changes to existing accounts. Provides information on products and services that meet the customer's need and wants in accordance with all Bank procedures.Maintain the ability to actively and professionally cross-sell Bank products and other Bank services.Adheres to established policies, procedures and federal regulationsPerforms other tasks requested by supervisor/manager as they relate to the bank and its functions Adheres to Information Security policies and related regulatory policies, procedures and standards designed to protect customer and Bank-owned informationQUALIFICATIONS:Experience in counting currency and coinGood math aptitudeAbility to deal effectively and tactfully with all types of customersEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:High School Graduate or GEDCustomer service experiencePrevious cash handling experiencePHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
