Job DetailsJob LocationRochester NY - Rochester, NYDescriptionJob SummaryThe Bankruptcy Asset Manager manages and coordinates bankruptcy activities within the PMG asset management team handling a portfolio of complex delinquent/problem loans. Activities include working with both internal department and approved attorneys to ensure bankruptcy activity meets court established timelines. The asset manager will work directly with the investor or client to ensure the Bankruptcy loans adhere to client and governmental/insurer guidelines. This position will assist attorneys in responding to any defensive or litigated matter. The Bankruptcy Asset Manager is responsible for adhering to investor/insurer, state, federal, and regulatory guidelines all while minimizing financial losses to the client and company. The wage range for this position is $45,651 to $62,770 (Planet uses factors such as geographic location, credentials, skills, education and training when considering offers of compensation).Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process bankruptcy filings in compliance with all investor guidelines and federal/state law. This includes the monitoring of all Chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 bankruptcies for pre and post-petition payments, motion for relief, discharges and dismissals. Comply with consent orders/agreements, reaffirmation agreements, responding to court or attorney inquiries, addressing bankruptcy litigation and elevating matters as required.
  • Develop and maintain working relationship with attorneys, trustees and bankruptcy court. Provide necessary information to coordinate the filings on PHL's behalf by minimizing losses through management of attorneys, trustees, 3rd party vendors and courts. Meet the bankruptcy timeline requirements by ensuring timely processing of activities and responsiveness to alerts to ensure bankruptcy processes are consistently progressing.
  • Ensure PHL's servicing systems (MSP & LoanShere) is updated and maintained with accurate bankruptcy status, steps, and holds pursuant to established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with all investor/company policies and procedures as well as legislative and regulatory requirements for processing actions. Maintain Bankruptcy workstation.
  • Handles investor inquiries by responding to emails, phone calls, handling appropriate document execution, title issue resolution and other tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position RequirementsEducation
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of experience.
Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience covering multiple facets of Default management such as: REO, Loss Mitigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and Collections experience.
  • Minimum 2 years Bankruptcy experience
Functional/Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of various bankruptcy filings/consumer protections.
  • Knowledge of Bankruptcy Document execution/ motions and pleadings/trustee ledger reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of mortgage banking practices and procedures including familiarity with FHMLC, FNMA, VA, FHA and GNMA guidelines, timeframes.
  • Working knowledge of Default Servicing procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Must be flexible, organized and have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook. LPS servicing system experience preferred
