Job Description:
The Banquet Captain is responsible for planning and executing all banquet events including meetings, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, receptions and other events. Create a positively memorable dining experience for patrons through exceptional quality and service. Responsibilities:
  • Displays exceptional customer service skills and understands rules of etiquette/flow of service for serving tables.
  • Guide, direct and motivate banquet team by setting performance standards and monitoring performance. Ensure that service team is ready to execute at all time.
  • Plan the sequence of service and execute its completion in a timely, quiet and courteous manner.
  • Assists in the room set up and service of each event. Direct team where needed.
  • Observe event guests and communicate with kitchen team to ensure seamless service.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders with banquet manager prior to meeting/event to ensure accuracy menus.
  • Keep inventories of equipment and order when necessary.
  • Knowledge of banquet PMS systems and billing features.
  • Assists with all side work duties and ensures that the banquet rooms are clean and organized, ensuring that the following shift is set up for success.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest and proprietary information, protecting company assets.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with LBKC standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs.
  • Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow employees and other departments.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in hotel banquet department is required.
  • Opera and Micros experience is preferred.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing 40 lbs. or more
  • Ability to stand for durations of shift.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
