The Banquet Captain also acts as a banquet server, providing the guest with an enjoyable, expertly served dining and beverage experience that exceeds their expectations. The position is required to perform the following duties: welcome greeter, cocktail server, hors d'oeuvre passer, reception bus person, buffet runner, front server, back server, exit usher. In addition to the abovementioned duties, the Banquet Captain takes close direction from the Banquet Manager and Shift Managers to assist in a supervisory role on the floor for set up, service and breakdown of events. The Banquet Captain may be required to work in other capacities within other departments. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.Position RequirementsEach position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.Education/Experience:Must be 18 years of age or older upon employmentHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum three (3) years' experience in banquets.Supervisory experience preferred.Ability to communicate in English through speaking and writing.Must be able to work in a fast pace, busy and noisy environment.Excellent guest relation skills and the ability to be attentive and to anticipate all guest needs are necessary.Proficient computer skills preferred.Fine dining experience preferred.Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:Must possess excellent communication skills.Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.Send to a Friend
