Ensure all culinary services for the Opry Circle Room pre-show receptions run smoothly and efficiently. Assist with other backstage hospitality duties for shows.
- Perform all culinary duties for the Circle Room pre-show receptions as directed by culinary leadership in preparation and maintenance of the buffet during service. This includes prepping, assembling, presenting and replenishing throughout the shift.
- Keep buffet, food workstation, dinnerware, utensils and equipment clean during service and stored away properly when not in use.
- Keep adequate supply of food available to satisfy the number of guests for each service. Stay in constant communication regarding par levels and ordering needs with culinary leadership.
- Interact with guests by answering questions about the menu, Opry, etc., and politely bussing tables during any downtime.
- Work under the direction of the culinary leadership to help plan menus, create presentations and arrangements, and any other culinary objectives relating to the Circle Room pre-show reception service.
- Take adequate measures to keep food costs down by preparing enough, but not an abundance of food items. Label, store, and manage prepped food by FIFO method to manage inventories.
- Responsible for overall sanitation and adherence to local health codes for proper food handling to provide a safe, clean workplace and food service.
- Maintain clean, sanitized and streak-free tops and bottoms to all tabletops during service and before being stored away each night. Spot sweep and/or vacuum carpets at end of events. Report any spills to custodial department.
- Maintain clean, tidy, and organized catering and food and beverage storage spaces within the venue.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in catering/banquets
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills required
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
