This role requires attention to detail, culinary expertise, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes for banquets and special events, including appetizers, main courses, desserts, and side dishes.
  • Adhere to standardized recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Coordinate with the Banquet Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food for events.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure that all dishes meet the standards of the establishment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to streamline operations and improve efficiency in banquet food production.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff members, providing guidance on cooking techniques, presentation, and kitchen procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, event planners, and other staff members to ensure smooth execution of banquets and events.
  • Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a cook in a banquet or catering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality dishes that delight guests.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Positive attitude, creativity, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of kitchen ware, cleaning equipment, food boxes, garbage etc. weighing up to 25 pounds in the BOH.
    • Regular and prolonged standing and walking to prepare food, clean work station, move garbage, etc.
    • Occasional ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to move food items, equipment, etc.
    • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
    • Frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms
    • Constant bending, stooping and turning to place dishes in machine, etc.
    • Constant exposure to hot and damp temperature fluctuations
