Job Summary:The Banquet/Line Cook at Embassy Suites - Brunswick is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes for our guests' satisfaction. This individual will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment, preparing food for banquets and events as well as handling a variety of tasks on the line. The ideal candidate must have a passion for food and be able to work efficiently and effectively in a high-volume setting.Compensation & Benefits:This is a full-time, hourly position with a competitive compensation of $16 to $18 per hour, paid semimonthly. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and employee discounts at our hotel and other Embassy Suites properties.Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and plating standards for banquets and events- Set-up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients- Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures when handling food and working with kitchen equipment- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food to guests- Assist with inventory and ordering of food and supplies as needed- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area at all times- Help with food prep and dishwashing when necessary- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop new menu items and specials- Follow all company and departmental policies and proceduresRequirements:- At least 1 year of experience as a Cook in a high-volume kitchen- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment- Excellent communication and teamwork skills- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays- Culinary degree or certification preferred, but not requiredEEOC Statement:We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
