Compensation: $18.05 an hour.Hilton Santa Clara is seeking a full time Banquet Setup person to join their team! This position requires a flexible schedule including availability all days of the week.Benefits* Dental, Medical, and Pension applicable to the Collective Bargaining Agreement* Vacation, sick and holiday pay* Free Parking at the hotel* Meal stipend* Education Assistance* Room Rate Discounts with any Hilton Brand Hotel* Additional Room Discounts for select hotels within portfolio* Two pairs of slip resistant shoes a year* Discount rates for travel such as car rental, theme parks, and much moreJOB DUTIES:* Check quality and quantity of all banquet stock and equipment.* Fold napkins, per banquet standards.* Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storerooms to banquet rooms.* Set tables according to service standards.* Set all condiments (sugar, bread, lemons, creamers, etc.) and beverages.* Ensure a sufficient supply of all flatware, glassware and china for service.* Ensure cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas.* Set up station with supplies and equipment.* Take Guests' food and beverage orders as needed.* Retrieve all alcoholic beverage orders from bar as needed and serve to Guest.* Open wine/champagne bottles and serve.* Make all varieties of coffee.* Serve all food courses and beverage items, clear each course and bus tables in accordance with standards. Remove soiled wares from tables as assigned and transport to dish washing area.* Anticipate Guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all Guests, however busy. Maintain positive Guest relations at all times.* Interact in courteous and professional manner with Guests, supervisors, co-workers and other departments.* Follow supervisor's instructions.* Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.* Complete closing duties, such as:* Properly store all reusable goods.* Clean all equipment as assigned.* Restock all items for next service.* Remove all dirty linen.JOB REQUIREMENTS:* Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.* Must be able to read, write and speak English.* Must be able to work independently.* Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.* Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds for a minimum of 300 feet.* Must be able to push or pull carts or equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.* Ability to understand Guests' service needs.* Ability to work cohesively with co-workers and other departments as part of a team.* Must be able to pass a background check.The Hilton Santa Clara is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
