Placement Range $10.00 Position Type Student Employee Job Category Student General DescriptionThis role involves not only preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.Reports To Coffee Shop Supervisor What position(s) reports to this position?NAMinimum Education/ExperienceCurrent OCCC student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during fall or spring, 3 hours during the summer.ORCurrent OCCC student with a federal work study award.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.Be respectful and courteous to co-workers, customers, visitors, managers, and others. Communicate clearly and professionally.Use organizational and time management skills. Take initiative in the performance of your work tasks, and be willing to assist others as needed.Deploy professional skills in collaboration with colleagues, to best promote the College's strategic interests and provide the best quality on-campus food services.Ability to learn coffee brewing techniques and beverage preparation methods.Familiarity with operating cash registers or POS systems and handling cash transactions.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.Ability to take and follow directions.Ability to work cooperatively with others.Ability to receive and respond appropriately to constructive criticism.Ability to display a positive attitude.Ability to multitask.Ability to work as a team in a busy atmosphere.Physical Demands/Working Conditions1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 25 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:This position requires the person to frequently move about the OCCC coffee shop.This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.This position requires the person to frequently repeat the same movements.This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.This position requires the person to perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.3. VISUAL ACUITY:This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.4. WORKING CONDITIONSThis position performs the essential functions in an indoor coffee shop.
