Hotel Covington is seeking an experienced Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team in Covington, KY. The ideal candidate should have craft cocktail experience and a passion for hospitality.Job Requirements:Offer guests an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience conforming to guidelines of excellence for quality, professionalism, and friendlinessServe and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional mannerFamiliar with the menus, including preparation, ingredients, and descriptionFamiliar with the wine list and wine and beverage service including stemware usedFamiliar with all types of liquors and brandsFamiliar with creating and developing craft cocktailsFollow established procedures to ensure knowledgeable, correct, and efficient order takingCreate excellent cocktails in a timely fashionGather all necessary bar supplies, garnishes, spirits, and bar utensils to properly set up the barPrepare and service beverages for guests and servers in a speedy, efficient, and professional mannerCarry trays, buses, and reset tables with the appropriate itemsProvide opening and closing inventory of spiritsRecognize and address potential intoxicated, disruptive, or undesirable guestsAdditional Requirements:Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English languageMust have a high school education or equivalent experienceMinimum of 2 years of food and beverage experienceAble to work well unsupervisedComputer skills helpful but not requiredMust be minimum age to serve alcoholMust have alcohol awareness certificationTeamwork: Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climatePartake in a positive work ethic and surrounding environmentStandards: Able to work alone without direct supervisionDemonstrate high degree of drive and determinationConstantly recommend service and product improvement to better the operationKeep the work area clean and tidy at all timesAttend all required meetingsFollow proper payroll and uniform proceduresProperly handle and report associate and guest accidentsMaintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standardsAssist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by managementDue to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotelPhysical Demand:Positions Continuous standing and walkingNegotiating wet tile floor and stepsFine motor coordination is needed to pour beverages, decorate cocktails, and folding napkinsForces Trays weigh 30 lbs.Carts: 250 lbs. (12-20 lbs. of push/pull force required)Hot box: 20 lbs.Repetitions Standing and walking is continuous for 4-5 hours at a timeLifting and carrying 30 lb. tray, crate, or box is occasionalNegotiating varied floor surfaces is continuousCarrying over shoulder is occasionalHand and elbow movements for polishing glassware, silver, setting up tables, shacking, pouring, and mixing drinksPushing Room Service cart is continuousLifting and carry hot boxes is continuousRolling and/or carry Banquet tables is continuousCarrying stackable banquet chairs by loading the cart is continuousSensory Excellent sight and balance needed for negotiating varied floor surfacesHandling lighted candles, and handling hot fluids (coffee and tea)Excellent speech and hearing to interact with guestsExcellent sight for completion of paperworkMust be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10 degrees F) and kitchens (+110 degrees F), possible for one hour or more#J-18808-Ljbffr
