MOREHEAD CITY MARLINS - INTERNSHIP - SUMMER 2025 FOCUS:Operations InternshipThe Morehead City Marlins (mhcmarlins.com) are one of the most successful teams in the Coastal Plain League which provides collegiate players the opportunity to play competitively in a wood-bat league during the summer months in front of professional scouts, while also providing the local community with an affordable summer entertainment destination everyone can enjoy.The Marlins play at Big Rock Stadium which is undergoing renovations this off season for the 2025 season.The Marlins organization has developed an intensive internship program that prepares its participants for a career in sports. Students who intern with the Marlins immediately become part of the game day staff, learning the different aspects of stadium operations, fan assistance, ticket sales and marketing in a fast-paced environment. We help our interns succeed in their educational and career objectives by preparing for and learning from actual situations our staff encounters at the ballpark which are discussed and experienced daily.While interns will be involved in all aspect of team and stadium operations, we are seeking a small number of individuals for a game entertainment focused experience that will provide you the opportunity to learn and develop your communication, marketing, game presentation, customer service and organizational skills.Here's what we're looking for in an ideal candidate:•Start date May 12th through approximatively August 12th.oCan be adjusted.•Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week.•Must work all 26 home games and potential playoff games during the 2025 season.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Trackman Operations:•Manage the daily operations of Trackman Baseball during home games, ensuring accurate data collection for player performance, pitch tracking, and game events.Synergy Sports Integration•Utilize Synergy Sports to analyze game footage and provide detailed breakdowns of players, teams, and in-game scenarios.Data Management:•Organize, clean, and maintain large datasets on player performance and game statistics.•Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data collected.Reporting & Insights:•Generate detailed analytical reports on player performance, trends, and insights for coaching staff and front office to inform decision-making.Pre&Post-Game Analytics:•Assist with pre-game preparation, including scouting reports, and post-game analysis, delivering data-drive insights on both our team and opponents.Collaboration:•Work with coaching staff to help them understand and apply data to improve game strategy, player development, and scouting.Data Visualization:•Create clear and concise visual representations of data trends of support discussions and player development efforts.Experience / Qualifications Required:•College level•Experience with Trackman Baseball and a solid understanding of baseball metrics•Strong proficiency in data management tools•Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends•Familiarity with R, Python, SQL, or other statistical software is preferredWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.Job Questions:
