Location: Lafayette,CO, USA
Provides officiating for our Basketball games. Senior level Sports Officials will need to maintain a broader, deeper understanding of the sport being officiated. The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:
* Enforces rules and regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially; analyzing situations and facts quickly and objectively to determine proper course of action to be taken.
* Monitors participants and their ability to participate; monitors attire to properly perform, (i.e., shoes, equipment, etc.) if applicable.
* Provides a safe environment for all participants; enforces all general building policies if applicable; completes any necessary reports and forms (i.e., Accident Reports, Attendance Records, Supply Requests, etc.).
* Prepares program activities; prepares lesson plans, organizes relative equipment; may be required to set-up and break-down materials used for instruction.
* Attends scheduled meetings as required; informs supervisor of any customer, equipment, or facility needs.
* Provides direct supervision of support staff, ensuring that the goals and objectives of activity are met.
* Performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE: Thorough knowledge of city and department rules and regulations; knowledge of specific sports program rules and interpretations.
SKILL: Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job.
ABILITY: Ability to enforce rules and regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially; control large groups of people; follow written and verbal instructions; remain current on rules of specific sports; communicate effectively to the participants; analyze situations quickly and objectively and determine proper course of action to be taken; work with little or no supervision, as necessary; analyze and assess facility, equipment and weather safety hazards; write incident and accident reports, learn and adhere to the facility emergency procedures; establish and maintain effective relationships with the public; pass basic sports understanding test; successfully pass police check for offenses that would prohibit working with kids or adults.
TRAINING: Specialty certifications.
EXPERIENCE: Some prior working experience, preferably 2 years and increased level of competitiveness, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence of required knowledge, skills and abilities.Must hold current CPR/AED certification or be able to obtain within a reasonable time.
May be restricted to age requirement as specified by FSLA:
* Ages 14-15 limited to: School in Session - 3 hours/day; 18 hours/week between 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
* (06/01 - Labor Day) School not in Session - 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week, no later than 9:00 PM.
