Title: Battery Test TechnicianDuration: 4 month contractLocation: Normal Illinois 61761Schedule: Monday - Friday 7a -4p (flexible on start/end time for shifts- some potential weekend hours depending on business needs- should be few/far between)There is always a chance to convert to a permanent position based on job performance and if there's a business need.Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and motivated EV Battery Test Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting various tests on electric vehicle (EV) batteries to ensure their performance, safety, and reliability meet industry standards. You will work closely with engineers to analyze battery behavior under different conditions, troubleshoot issues, and document results.TOP Skills/Responsibilities:Must be comfortable operating a forklift and overhead crane.Perform tests on EV battery cells, modules, and packs to evaluate their performance, efficiency, capacity, charge/discharge cycles, and thermal management under different conditions.Set up, calibrate, and operate a variety of test equipment, including leak testers, thermal chambers, load banks, and other diagnostic tools.Key Responsibilities:Perform tests on EV battery cells, modules, and packs to evaluate their performance, efficiency, capacity, charge/discharge cycles, and thermal management under different conditions.Set up, calibrate, and operate a variety of test equipment, including leak testers, thermal chambers, load banks, and other diagnostic tools.Record test data accurately, identify trends, and report any irregularities or failures. Use diagnostic software to analyze test results and assist engineers in identifying root causes of performance issues.Identify and troubleshoot issues with battery packs or testing equipment. Work with engineering teams to implement corrective actions and improve testing processes.Follow all safety protocols and procedures for handling EV batteries and testing equipment. Ensure all testing is conducted in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.Maintain accurate test logs and reports. Summarize test results and contribute to the creation of technical documentation for internal and external use.Required Qualifications:Associate degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent technical training and experience.At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the electric vehicle or battery industry.Knowledge of electric vehicle systems and related test equipment.Proficiency in data analysis and technical troubleshooting.Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.Comfortable working in a lab or testing environment with exposure to various technical equipment.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Skills:Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS) and related software tools (CANalyzer).Proficiency with high and low voltage electronics.Experience operating in a JIRA workspace.Experience with thermal testing, environmental simulations, or other specialized testing.OSHA or other safety certifications.#J-18808-Ljbffr
