Are you interested in helping youth make positive changes in their lives? As a volunteer at Lad Lake, you can work with youth in various ways. Lad Lake is dedicated to supporting and guiding Wisconsin's most challenged youth and families. Our caregivers offer trauma-informed guidance to help each youth's healing journey, whether through residential care, community-based services, or alternative education. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment for the youth and families we serve, and thanks to the excellent work of our caregivers, we have achieved remarkable results. Volunteers at Lad Lake help build relationships with youth in a trauma-informed care environment, sometimes with them in the classroom or leading workshops to share unique skills or talents, such as painting, gift box making, mindfulness techniques, and leadership skills. A warm and caring heart is the most essential requirement for volunteering at Lad Lake. We hope our volunteers will help the youth heal and be positive adult role models.Our volunteers must be:- Reliable and caring- Comfortable verbally engaging with young adults who are struggling with their emotions. - A willing listener, supportive, patient, and flexible. - Tolerant and respectful of individual differences. - Willing to invest in the success of a young adult proactively and willing to adhere to all program policies and procedures.The Role of a Volunteer:- To offer guidance, support, and assistance in developing life skills.- Assisting young people in working towards achieving their set goals.- Helping young people identify and adopt successful coping skills.- Providing non-judgmental, positive, and strength-based support to young adults in need.Apply Today!Application Process:1) Complete the ADP Volunteer Caregiver Application2) Complete Background Check 3) Meet with the Volunteer Program Coordinator 4) Complete the online Orientation and Training module5) Complete TB Test (no cost to the applicant)6) Choose a volunteer opportunity with guidance from the Volunteer Program Coordinator.
