Ensures that bed assignments are made in accordance with established policies and procedures. Manages resources to maximize operations and provide optimal care of all patients. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.Job Requirements:Education and Work Experience:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Experience in bed control coordination in acute hospital: Preferred
Department Specific License/Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
Essential Functions:
  • Coordinates with staff regarding emergency and direct admissions based on bed availability, treatment plan and admission criteria.
  • Collects, analyzes, evaluates and summarizes data from referring hospitals, physicians and clinics regarding bed utilization.
  • Maintains awareness pending discharges for current and following day coordination with Case Managers.
  • Reports bed census and projections to Staffing office.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
