Helping to implement programs for children in carewithin the requirements of the current curriculum. The Child Care Centre may be comprised ofinfant, toddler, preschool and before & after school age care.Employment Type:Part Time or Regular Part time15-25 hours per week; must be available Monday through FridayPlacement Date: November 25th, 2024RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the care and safety of the children.Organize and implement activities for the group as outlined in the YMCA Playing To Learncurriculum.Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all parents, children and fellow staff.Participate in training sessions when required including Food Handlers Certification.Participate in training and adhere to the YMCA Child Protection Policies and Proceduresas established by the YMCA of Niagara.Other duties as required.QUALIFICATIONSRegistered Early Childhood Educator & proof of membership in good standing withthe College of ECE.Child and Youth Care or Recreation and Leisure Services diploma/degree.Current Early Childhood education students.Members in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).Previous Child Care experience.Food Handlers certification preferred.Current immunizations as required by Niagara Regional Public Health and the Ministryof Education.Current Standard First Aid, CPR-C certification.Upon hiring, applicants must be 18 years of age and older and submit a clear andsatisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) issued for the YMCA of Niagara.COMPETENCIESChild and Youth Focused: Commits to assisting growth and development among children and youth.Relationship Building and Collaboration: Builds positive interactions both internally and externally to achieve work related goals.Coaching and Development: Commits to assisting participants, volunteers, staff and self in continuous learning and development.Quality Focus: Ensures that YMCA programs and services are superior.APPLICATION PROCESSAll applicants are thanked for their interest.
