GENERAL PURPOSE:The Educational Behavioral Consultant is responsible for implementing educational and behavioral consultative services with outpatient and community settings associated with the medical center. Services may be provided in the context of clinical service, research, consultation, or education. This role involves the delivery of outpatient services that will involve travel to districts or agencies across the region. This role involves services delivery for patients across the life course; the primary population is children and adolescents, with potential of providing adult services. The consultant will train URMC and community-based staff, and caregivers on all interventions. There is also the opportunity for the consultant to supervise field work and practicum placement students from the Warner School of Education Applied Behavior Analysis graduate program, if applicable. The Consultant will uphold ethical standards according to their field practice and/or governing agency.**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**+ Performs complex psychosocial assessments, functional behavioral assessments, functional analyses, skill assessments, and/or educational assessments in collaboration with staff, individuals and their families to achieve positive outcomes and improved quality of life. Develops function-based behavioral interventions, training models and teaching programs. This includes but is not limited to instructional strategies and behavior reduction strategies, safety plans, and transitions plans. Coordinates training with individuals, family and staff (may include peer supervision and consultation) in areas including but not limited to milieu, home foster home, educational, medical, clinic and community settings. Assesses successful completion of behavior and/or training plans and terminates participation accordingly. Coordinates with Primary Care Physicians, school teams, and community agencies to ensure continuity of care.+ Develops, maintains and updates behavior and/or training plans in compliance with Program, Department and Hospital regulations. Meets minimum target for productivity set by service director.+ Acts as primary contact for behavior and/or teaching plans. Collaborates with referral sources and other professionals both internal and external throughout implementation of behavior plans.+ Establishes and regularly maintains cooperative working relationships with schools, community and health care agencies, as well as professional and administrative staff of the Medical Center and University. May serve on agency and community committees.+ Contribute to DBP-related community requests and programs related to disseminating and providing training around behavioral supports and services including:1. Develop and deliver educational presentations to agencies, school districts, community groups that include behavioral strategies and systemic approaches to supporting behavior2. Provide ongoing technical assistance around behavioral supports for agencies, school districts, community groups3. Develop toolkits and other materials on behavioral supports for individuals with ASD that can be disseminated throughout the hospital and available to community membersOther duties as assigned.**QUALIFICATIONS:**+ Master's degree in applied behavior analysis, psychology, education or related field required.+ At least 3 years' experience working with individuals with autism and related disorders or developmental disabilities with comorbid mental health needs across community, school, or other clinical settings required.+ Experience working in schools and/or with school teams is highly preferred.**Preferred:**+ Ability to work effectively with key stakeholders across a number of different hospital and community settings. Flexible in approach and appreciates the demands of a fast-paced, constantly evolving practice.+ Must be willing to travel to schools and/or agencies located across the region.+ Can work with individuals with varying levels of need and complexity.+ Comfortable working with pilot and novel programs to create new opportunities for integrated service models.
