Behavior AnalystThis position is primarily responsible for the development of all intervention plans and behavior methodologies used at Anova Center for Education (ACE) Programs. This individual works with the IEP Team to finalize IEP goals addressing targeted behaviors and is responsible for the successful implementation of each Students behavioral program. This position will provide ongoing classroom consultation, staff training and direct student support. ESSENTIAL DUTIESKEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Development and Oversight of Behavioral Programs
- Maintain working knowledge of and comply with all State and Federal laws applicable to the delivery of the professional services rendered by a Non-Public school.
- Maintain working knowledge of SELPA guidelines as they apply to assigned Students/Classrooms, and ensure that behavioral programs and content are compatible with these guidelines.
- Research alternate methods / materials which may be useful to the ACE School programs and present suggestions and justification to the School Director / Anova Management Team for consideration.
- Responsible for the development and monitoring of systems to ensure least restrictive strategies and behavioral program are employed for each student assigned.
- Conceptualize and write in a clear and concise manner the functional analyses / behavior assessments, positive behavior intervention plans as appropriate, including relevant supporting documentation for individual students as assigned.
- Effectively present functional behavior assessment, behavior intervention plans and recommended goals at scheduled IEP meetings, team meetings, etc.
- Develop interim / emergency behavior plans when necessary while a more extensive behavior plan are being developed.
- Provide recommendations to IEP Team for on-going modification of student behavior plans.
- Act as a resource for Teachers and Staff in the design of appropriate IEP goals as well as the methods and materials determined most effective in addressing the targeted behaviors in achievement of student behavioral goals.
- Maintain effective communication and follow through with Classroom Teachers and Staff by providing observation / supervision and feedback of behavioral program implementation. Provide focused supervision and direct modeling for Staff in need regarding behavioral methodology and technique.
- Develop and implement behavior data collection systems and provide recommendations to Teacher and Staff for developing data collection forms and other relevant documentation.
- Assist Teacher, Assistants and DIS Therapists with planning and monitoring Student/Classroom reinforcement strategies and programs.
- Encourage an atmosphere conducive to helping students achieve their greatest potential in each individual's least restrictive environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Staff Training
- Provide supervision of clinical hours for assigned staff and interns.
- Responsible to develop and conduct school-wide in-service training each month for all staff implementing behavioral programs.
- Attend classroom team/clinical meetings and serve as an instructor and resource to Staff for appropriate and effective Behavioral Management Technique and skill acquisition.
- Responsible to ensure that the content and quality of behavioral component of Anova Center for Education (ACE) staff orientation material is complete and up to date.
- Responsible to promote cooperation and a feeling of teamwork among Staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Administrative
- Responsible to ensure the adherence to Anova's policies and procedures and other governing agency regulations and standards as appropriate at all times.
- Complete activities relevant to this position as required by the California Department of Education pursuant to maintaining certification as a non-public school.
- Provide constructive input into the development and/or revision of ACE School Policies and Procedures including lesson planning and IEP protocols.
- Provide constructive input into Staff and Student orientation procedures.
- Provide constructive input into the professional goals for Staff implementing behavioral strategies.
- Serves as Campus leader for the Safety committee. Maintaining an updated IIPP document. Annually training Staff of its contents. Conducts monthly fire drills. Maintains related safely requirement such as fires extinguishers, first aid kits, emergency preparedness classroom kits and student emergency kits.
- Ensure that all work performed and Student's reports are backed up to the Company's network server daily.
- Ensure that all information and Students reports are uploaded to Central Reach according to Anova's policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all work is recorded and converted in Central Reach on a daily basis and that activity records are evaluated and approved timely according to Anova's policies and procedures.
- Provide clear and accurate service logs meeting agency timelines.
- Complete all administrative paperwork in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Serves on the Student's Rights Committee.
- Sit on Anova committee / task force at request of Anova Management Team / Board of Directors.
Qualifications: The candidate Behavior Analyst is required to have least two years of experience working with developmentally disabled and / or emotionally disturbed students in an environment utilizing an Applied Behavior Analysis approach. Supervisory experience is required. Must hold a Masters Degree in a related field or valid CA Teaching Credential. Candidate should be working toward professional licensure or BCBA. Must have computer access with internet capabilities.
