Primary PurposeTo provide districtwide prevention and intervention support to students in regular education classrooms who are struggling with frequent, intense, and/ or severe behavioral issues. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/LicensureBachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas Teacher Certification, Texas Certification by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Psychologists as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, or Valid Texas Counseling Certificate, or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Special Knowledge/SkillsEffective collaboration, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Solution oriented problem-solving experience
Instructional strategies and best practices
Ability to collect, interpret, and make decisions based on data
Successful experience working with resistant learners and students with behavioral challenges
Strong organizational and time management skills
ExperienceMinimum of 3 years classroom teaching experience - Preferred
Knowledge of and experience developing individualized behavioral and/or safety plans for students in the education setting- Preferred
Major Responsibilities and DutiesConduct observations to identify students referred by campuses who are in need of behavioral
Work collaboratively with campus and district staff to ensure behavioral requirements are fulfilled and information is available for appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop the behavioral plans for each student assigned.
Support, assist, and coach teachers to develop and implement behavioral plans in the classroom.
Collaborate, assist, and coordinate:Implementation of effective behavioral strategies and interventions
Conferences and/or staffings regarding student evaluation, placement, and recommendations
With campus staff to develop, implement, and monitor behavior plans and/or student safety plans
Professional learning for campus staff
With district staff and outside agencies regarding education, behavioral, psychological, social, medical, and personal needs of students.
With district personnel on problem issues and crisis management as they relate to students.
Establish and maintain open lines of communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, administrators, counselors, teachers, and district staff.
Demonstrate and co-teach in classrooms to model effective classroom and student behavior management practices and strategies.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents
Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and
Manage and utilize data effectively for systematic process and program analysis.
