Job Schedule: Full Time Standard Hours: 40 Job Shift: Shift 1 Shift Details: 40 hours per week RN, 7:00a-3:30p, every other weekend required
St. Vincent's Behavioral Health Center in Westport is a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility specializing in care for children, adolescents, and adults with mental health and dual diagnosis substance use disorders. St. Vincent's Medical Center is the first hospital in Fairfield County integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network and is part of one of the largest providers of mental health services at several locations in Connecticut.
Job Summary:
- Provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with established policies and procedures of the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Performs initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice.
- Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives, and interventions.
- Evaluates patient's response to interventions and revises nursing plan of care as needed.
- Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to behavioral health patients.
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialing from the Connecticut Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Certified BLS Provider credentialing from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross obtained within 2 Months of hire date or job transfer date.
- Associate's Degree required, Bachelor Degree preferred.
- Experience in an acute care psychiatric setting is preferred.
- Evidence of leadership ability.
