DescriptionJob Description The Behavioral Health Clinician I serves as part of the Behavioral Health unit. Under supervision, the incumbent performs a variety of duties related to patient care, interviewing clients, coordinating plans and activities to meet social and emotional needs. Provides crisis intervention, assisting families in understanding the implications and complexities of the life situation and its impacts on life. Provides professional assistance to clients as it relates to emotional disorders, mental illnesses, and substance abuse problems, using brief and focused treatments. Under supervision, provides clinical consultation for the provisions of psychiatric services. Performs related work as required. The hours of work are 35 per week. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of evidence-based practices, including trauma informed care framework Knowledge and ability to work with co-occurring populations (chronic health conditions, mental health, and substance use) Knowledge of technical platforms (Microsoft Suite: Excel, Teams, etc.) Ability to work independently with a people of diverse cultures, ages, and economic backgrounds Ability to display provide excellent care services to behaviorally challenged clients Ability to work flexible work hours including pre-scheduled nights and weekends Strong communication and organizational skills Qualifications Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field and one (1) year of clinical counseling experience in general patient care, including crisis intervention. Required: Valid DPH associate license to practice under direct supervision.
