Must possess a state of Georgia license or eligibility for a license as a professional counselor, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, psychologist, psychiatric nurse, rehabilitation counselor; or Certification in Special Education or Addiction Counseling (CAC II or CADC II) (as required by position assignment). Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position. Examination:The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT.Purpose of Classification:The purpose of this classification is to perform process duties related to managing mental health, substance abuse, and/or developmentally disabled clients including interviewing clients; developing treatment plans; providing individual, family, and/or group behavioral health therapy; and evaluating client's progress toward attainment of goals. Behavioral Health Clinician I is distinguished from Behavioral Health Clinician II in that the former provides behavioral health therapy for clients and serves as a licensed or license-eligible professional, whereas the latter provides behavioral health therapy to clients and serves as a fully licensed professional clinician.Essential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Provides individual, family, and/or group behavioral health therapy.Coordinates client and case management services.Evaluates and documents client's level of functioning and progress toward attainment of goals.Monitors client's stability and level of functioning in the community.Performs diagnostic assessments of clients.Additional Functions:Performs other related duties as required.Performance Aptitudes:Data Utilization: Requires the ability to evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data using established criteria.
