Job Description:
Responsibilities: Provide direct services in all behavioral health programs, which include, but are not limited to mental health counseling, substance abuse/addictions, elder care, admissions, emergency preparedness and other special programs and projects. Promotes public education and awareness by taking part in presentations before community groups emphasizing mental health programs as directed by Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Services Director Provides crisis/suicide intervention by agency-provided telephone after hours on rotation with coworkers and with supervisor support. All interventions are addressed over the phone. Schedule: Position requires 2 evenings a week (11:00 am – 7:00 pm) Tuesday through Thursday. Remaining days (including Mondays and Fridays) are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Benefits: Base Salary - $58,000 - $63,000 per year (Depending on Qualifications) 13 Paid Holidays per year. Paid Vacation Time – accrued each month, available for use immediately, increases incrementally with years of service. Paid Sick Time – 6 hours accrued each month, available for use immediately, unlimited carryover each year. Paid Personal Time – 40 hours annually, complies with Illinois Paid Leave Act. Qualifications/Skills: Positive, cooperative, and professional attitude. Excellent communication skills. Ability to provide mental health and substance use counseling to adults and youth. Reflects experience/interest in the culturally diverse population that the health department serves. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: Master's degree in a human service-related field required & experience in group, family & individual therapy or crisis/suicide intervention. License as LSW or LPC required. Valid Illinois Driver's License. Ability to pass background check.
