Behavioral Health Clinician
Full Time | Day Shift | 8am - 5 pm
Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician for LSS Health Center (formerly Health Center at Faith Mission) in Columbus, Ohio. What will I do as a Behavioral Health Clinician with Lutheran Social Services?
- Participates in the support and implementation of effective and quality behavioral health and case management services to be provided to the clients of the health center
- Deliver individualized, integrated mental health services that address the holistic needs of clients experiencing mental health disorders, serious mental illness, dual diagnosis, and/or substance use issues.
- Establish services based on health intervention screening tools, including, but not limited to the PHQ-2, PHQ-9, SBIRT, etc.
- Ensure prompt delivery of strength-based therapeutic services, including the development of individualized treatment plans for clients regarding behavioral health and/or recovery needs
- Foster coordination among supportive services, medical, vision, dental, and psychiatric staff, as needed, to ensure the delivery of client-focused, integrated health care
- Ensure linkage and referral to a vast array of community resources that will provide long-term support for individuals
- Provide and/or interpret initial diagnostic biopsychosocial assessment
- Determine behavior health needs utilizing appropriate screening tools such as ASAM level of care, GAD, AUDIT-C, etc.
- Coordinate and link clients with appropriate substance use disorder treatment and/or mental health services
- Develop treatment plan based on diagnosis
- Ensure prompt and accurate completion of required documentation within the electronic health record
- Maintain clear and precise documentation including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other related clinical documentation.
- Travel within the community to provide community based services.
- Provide ongoing clinical services, such as individual psychotherapy, group facilitation, and case management by using evidence-based therapy modalities including, but not limited to, MI, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care
- Participate in weekly team huddles to conduct case reviews of clients enrolled in the medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation by providing leadership and by modeling professional and calm problem-solving behavior for clients, colleagues, and the community.
- In conjunction with the Director of Clinical and Supportive Services, provide supervision to student interns to enhance their educational experience by providing quality field instruction while also benefiting Lutheran Social Services of Ohio programs and fulfill learning agreements with institutions of higher learning.
- Contribute to an atmosphere of safety, sanctuary, dignity, support, and resource through adherence to the Lutheran Social Services of Ohio and Faith Mission Code of Ethics, Confidentiality Agreements, and HIPAA requirements.
- Must have knowledge and adherence to ethical standards as set forth by the board that the practitioner is licensed to in addition to the Ohio Code of Ethics for practitioner's license

Requirements for a Behavioral Health Clinician with Lutheran Social Services:
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, and/or Marriage & Family Therapy -OR- PhD/PsyD in Psychology -OR- Related human services field.
- Licensed by Ohio CSWMFT Board as an LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, LMFT, IMFT (minimally required); or Ohio Psychology Board as a Psychologist (minimally required).
- Conducting diagnostic assessments (required).
- Maintain a full time caseload in accordance with LSS Health Center standards.
- Preferred one year working in the human services field.
- Experience working with following or related populations: individuals experiencing homelessness, individuals with mental health disorders, substance abuse disorder, or co-occurring disorders, and PLWHA (strongly preferred).
- Preferred experience utilizing at least one the following techniques, interventions and EBP's: Motivational Interviewing skills, Stages of Change, Harm Reduction.
- Administrative reporting experience.
