Job Details Level : Experienced Job Location : Fairfield Office - Fairfield, CA Position Type : Full Time Education Level : Master's Degree Salary Range : Undisclosed Job Shift : Day Description Role: Under the supervision of the Solano Mental Health Program Director, the School Based Mental Health Clinician has the primary responsibility for the providing direct mental health services to children and youth at assigned school site. Services include individual, group, and family therapy (as needed) to elementary and middle school level children; collaborate with educational staff; perform intake, evaluations, which include forming diagnostic formulations; provide case management, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions for children and youth as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides culturally/linguistically sensitive individual, group, family and collateral outpatient psychotherapy to EPSDT/Medi-Cal eligible clients referred for treatment Provides individual, group, and/or collateral Mental Health Rehabilitation Services as needed. Co-facilitates groups with team members if needed and as appropriate Develops, cultivates, and maintains positive relationships with the principal, school staff, and team clinicians Maintains caseload as relevant to FTE (1.0 FTE= 16-20 case minimum: case minimum), co-facilitate 4 groups and provide trainings to teachers and parents Provides services to at least 25 unduplicated kids in a school year Informs Principal when making a CPS report and may support teachers in doing so, if requested Knowledge of the standards set by the county, state, Board of Psychology/ Board of Behavioral Sciences, Medi-Cal, EPSDT and internal ABW clinical quality standards Attend appropriate meetings, which include weekly group supervision, staff meetings, trainings and supervision Monitor eligibility and obtain authorizations where appropriate Follow all procedures and protocols related to EPSDT Follow regulatory guidelines, mandated reporting, and program/agency protocols in performing duties Consults with parents regarding educational and social issues of their children. Helps parents understand their child's abilities, needs and opportunities, especially in relationship to mental health Abide by all provisions of the ABW personnel manual Perform any other duties as directed. Qualifications: MSW, MA, PhD or PsyD from accredited school of social work or psychology. Must be licensed or registered with BBS or BOP. Excellent clinical and writing skills. Direct experience working with diverse racial and ethnic populations Understanding of basic theoretical and developmental principles of infant, early childhood, and family mental health Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred. Ability to understand psychological assessment reports; psychological assessment experience a plus for psychologist applicants Must have a car and good driving record Understand and desire to work with a strength-based mental health approach Knowledge, understanding, and willingness to work with interdisciplinary approaches and partnerships Understanding DSM, and treatment plans Ability to work independently and to work as a member of a team Excellent organizational, computer and communication skills. Ability to pass various background checks needed to work with children. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office and/or community setting. This position is eligible for telecommuting with supervisor approval. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Flexible schedule, based on business needs, usually Monday through Friday. Travel Local travel to various worksites and community is required. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Employees must pass a background check and receive TB and health clearances prior to employment. Driving records will be reviewed periodically.
