Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is hiring a Behavioral Health Consultant to our Behavioral Health Department. This position assesses and screens patients for various behavioral disorders and provides brief solution focused treatment.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performs job duties as part of the Behavioral Health Department's Integrated Health Team.
- Serves as a Behavioral Health Consultant (aka Medical Family Therapist) to a Primary Care Team.
- Serves as a bridge and facilitator to services for patients addressing symptoms that impact both their physical and mental health.
- Provides screening and triage services as well as solution-focused, brief intervention and crisis intervention to patients (and families when appropriate).
- Follows up on depression, domestic violence, alcohol screenings, and other identified risk factors.
- Consults with Primary Care Physicians (PCP) and nurses to manage at-risk patients and mental health issues as related to the patients physical diagnosis.
- Coordinates services with integrated coordinators for treatment from the Behavioral Health Department.
- Provides case management and assistance with referrals and/or resources to outside agencies or residential treatment centers.
- Facilitates lab and assessment requirements for patients seeking placement in a residential substance abuse treatment center.
- Coordinates/provides behavioral health training for medical staff and other departments.
- Charts all encounters in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position.
- Must align with OKCIC vision, mission and core values
- Master's degree in Behavioral Health related field
- License to practice in Oklahoma (LPC, LADC, LMFT, LCSW, or LBP)
- Minimum of 1 year of direct therapy experience
- Crisis intervention experience is preferred
- Previous experience working in Electronic Health Record, RPMS preferred
- Previous experience working with Native American populations preferred
- Medical Family Therapist certification preferred
