JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education
    • Doctorate Required
    • PhD or PsyD in psychology with appropriate focus on child, adolescent, or early development, including completion of an internship in an APA or CPA accredited psychology program
  • Minimum Work Experience
    • Post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology or integrated healthcare is preferred. Prior pediatric experience required.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications for position
    • Licensed Psychologist

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to relate and effectively communicate with varying levels of staff.

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Excellence/QualityConsider the quality of the work tasks required and how the quality of performance impacts the program, function or care this position must demonstrate.
    • Delivers effective consultation-liaison services to primary care providers.
    • Provides assessment and ongoing psychotherapeutic treatment to the primary care population being served.
    • Participates in providing training and in-service education for East TN Children's Hospital staff.
    • Supervises and engages in clinical teaching with psychology trainees.
  • Customer Service (internal and external)Consider what the employee's required, position-specific performance and behavior should be and how they should demonstrate it. Indicate what performance standards need to be established as expectations consistent with departmental and organization-wide Service Excellence expectations.
    • Collaborates and works as a team member with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
