The successful candidate will have a passion for helping people, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships. The Behavioral Health Counselor will provide comprehensive counseling services to clients with a variety of mental health issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field, and experience providing evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). The Behavioral Health Counselor will work collaboratively with a team of professionals to provide quality care to our clients and ensure that their needs are met. If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others, then this is the job for you!Job ResponsibilitiesProvide individual, group, couples, and family counseling to clientsDevelop treatment plans and set attainable goals for clientsMonitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as neededEducate clients on topics related to mental health and wellnessFacilitate therapeutic activities and techniques to address client needsConduct assessments and provide crisis management when necessaryMaintain accurate and detailed records of client progressProvide referrals to community resources as neededParticipate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practicesAdvocate for clients in a variety of settingsCollaborate with other mental health professionals as neededJob RequirementsMaster's degree in a relevant field such as mental health counseling or social workLicensure eligible within 18 months of hire - Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), etcOne year of direct service, post-graduate, experience preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of counseling techniques, theories, and practicesKnowledge of mental health and substance abuse disordersExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsAbility to develop and maintain therapeutic relationshipsAbility to identify and assess behavioral health issuesAbility to develop and implement treatment plansDemonstrated ability to work with individuals, groups, and familiesAbility to provide crisis counseling and interventionAbility to work with clients from diverse backgroundsAbility to document and maintain accurate recordsWe offer competitive salaries and an array of employee benefits, including medical, dental, company paid vision, company paid life, AD&D, and Long Term Disability, voluntary life, AD&D, and Short Term Disability, 401 (K) retirement savings plan with company contribution, 10 paid holiday, generous paid vacation, paid sick time, discounted pet insurance and an Employee Assistance Program.
