In this position, you will supervise the dedicated team of Behavioral Health Docket Case Managers and Therapists while also providing crucial counseling services. Your responsibilities include conducting assessments, therapy sessions, and managing the daily provision of client services, ensuring that treatment needs are met effectively. You will attend weekly court status hearings, prepare written reports, and advocate for participants within the criminal justice system and treatment community.By linking individuals to essential resources, entitlements, and community services, you'll assist in their reintegration and recovery journey. This role emphasizes program analysis, effective communication with families, and public outreach to destigmatize mental health treatment, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those served.Requirements for this Behavioral Health Docket Coordinator jobTo excel as a Behavioral Health Docket Coordinator at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, candidates must possess strong clinical and communication skills essential for working with individuals who have serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders. A Master's Degree in a Human Services field (such as Psychology, Counseling, and Social Work) is required, along with a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience, including therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention, and case management. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and tools is advantageous for managing client documentation and services efficiently.Additionally, candidates must be registered with the Board of Counseling to practice as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Adult (QMHP-A), or register as a QMHP-A trainee within 30 days of employment. The ability to attain and maintain certification as a Pre-screener within the probationary period is crucial for ensuring compliance with state regulations and supporting effective service delivery to clients.
