Job Description:
The Opportunity: The Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) works to create a healing environment for the individuals in the treatment programs. A BHP provides direct care and treatment services for individuals needing support, care, and treatment for mental health and/or AODA problems. We have full and part-time roles available. The shifts on our units are 6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am. Our wages range from $17.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience, plus shift differential for all applicable hours. We have amazing employees who provide exceptional care and want to add to our team. What You'll Do:
  • BHP's will collaborate within one of NCHC's Acute Care which include: adult behavioral health hospital, youth behavioral health hospital, adult crisis stabilization facility, youth crisis stabilization facility, and Lakeside Recovery AODA/mental health residential unit.
  • Promotes Person Centered Care in all interactions with patients/clients.
  • Provides and supports treatment in groups or on an individual basis. Treatment includes self-care, basic living skills, leisure, social skills, coping skills, self-esteem, therapeutic arts/crafts, de-escalation, etc.
  • Assists in development of treatment planning and collaborates with team to prevent adverse outcomes.
  • Performs general patient care services and assigned department duties including activities of daily living, medication administration/management, cleaning, inventory, etc.
  • Demonstrates comfort and participation in providing client/patient de-escalation and physical restraint/seclusion measures as needed during behavioral health emergencies within the Acute Care department and other NCHC departments/programs.
Click here to watch the realistic job preview video What You Bring: BHP I: High School degree or equivalent and preferred 4 years of experience providing mental health services. BHP II: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license. BHP III: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field. Skills & Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
  • Reliable attendance and transportation
  • Experience with facilitating therapeutic groups and activities
  • Ability to provide patient centered and trauma informed care
  • Passion for working with behavioral health population
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license and appropriate auto insurance coverage as required by North Central Health Care
