Job Description:

* If you are located within an hour & 1/2 of our Novi office, this position will be hybrid (one day per week on Wednesdays in office). If you are located outside of this area but in the state of Michigan, this position will be remote.

Altarum's Division of Population Health is pleased to announce an opening for a Behavioral Health Project Manager to assist with projects for the State of Michigan. This position leads cross-functional teams and interfaces with clients, staff, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters. The Project Manager also works to build the capacity and readiness of publicly funded agencies and organizations in a variety of sectors (e.g., behavioral health, social and human services, public health) to enhance the quality of SUD and peer recovery support services (PRSS) and improve behavioral health (BH) outcomes. The Project Manager will provide oversight of technical assistance and training to various professionals across diverse settings and contribute to deliverables, including but not limited to trainings, webinars, publications, and reports. The Project Manager also will establish and maintain positive client relationships, identify and pursue opportunities for new business, and mentor other training and technical assistance team members.

Responsibilities

* Assess, plan, and manage training and technical assistance in the implementation of SUD and PRSS for adults, youth, and families struggling with the impact of SUD

* Plan and manage projects with some guidance from Project Directors

* Manage project budgets in Altarum project management system and make decisions on adjustments and improvements in order to effectively execute the project

* Manage staff time and tasks on projects

* Foster relationships with clients, including building strong communication with clients and serving as a logistical contact

* Work closely with Project Directors to lead, design, and deliver training and technical assistance on a variety of content areas associated with best practices in SUD treatment, PRSS for both adults and youth, and BH workforce issues

* Develop technical assistance packages, reports, memos, tools, toolkits, online learning courses, and webinars

* Work collaboratively with other Altarum staff on projects, and collaboratively with other external TA providers

* Work directly with clients to ensure that projects are executed successfully and with high-quality

* Provide subject matter expertise and project/client management capabilities as needed

* Contribute to federal, state, and philanthropic proposal efforts

Qualifications

* Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, public health, human development, child psychology, family studies or related field

* Minimum ten (10) years' work experience, including specific experience in substance use disorders

* Minimum of three (3) years of relevant Project Management experience within the behavioral health field

* Experience in a behavioral health care system, community behavioral health center, or community public health setting, or similar context (experience in Michigan preferred)

* Experience working with mid-level and senior clinical and/or administrative leaders in diverse settings

* Ability to travel approximately up to 20% time in the State of Michigan (depending on your location)

* Experience with peer support/peer recovery (lived experience or ally a plus)

* Ability to provide team leadership, work as an effective team member, as well as work independently with minimal supervision

* Experience managing, coordinating, or contributing to large-scale proposal efforts desired

Knowledge

* Principles and practices of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed systems of care

* Evidence-based behavioral health interventions for adults and youth with substance use disorders, including peer support and recovery incentives

* Implementation approaches for SUD services across diverse, community-based settings

* BH system of care in Michigan

Competencies

* Successful management of projects involving training and technical assistance

* Development and management of project timelines and budgets

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail; flexibility to manage multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under deadlines

* Facilitation of internal and external project team meetings

* Communication of project results to funders, decision-makers, and different audiences

* Mentorship of other project team members

Logistical Requirements

* This role will be located in Michigan. If you are local to our office in Novi, MI, this role will be hybrid.

* At this time, we will only accept candidates who are presently eligible to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship.

* Our organization requires that all work, for the duration of your employment, must be completed in the continental U.S. unless required by contract.
